Contact & corrections

Corrections get priority over everything else. If a number here is wrong we would rather hear it from you than leave it up.

Corrections

If a figure on this site is wrong, tell us. The most useful correction includes three things:

  1. The page and the exact figure you think is wrong.
  2. What it should be.
  3. Where that comes from — a manufacturer spec page, a published test, a product manual.

We check corrections against the source, fix them on the page, and update the modified date. Material corrections are noted on the page itself rather than silently applied.

◇ We
Specification changes made under an unchanged product name; independently measured figures for units we have marked as unmeasured; and any case where we have attributed a manufacturer claim as though it were an independent measurement. That last one is the error we care most about catching.

Disagreeing with a score

Scores here come from one published rubric applied in fixed proportions, and the full sum is printed on every review. So a disagreement usually resolves into one of three specific things, and it helps if you say which:

  • The input is wrong — a measured or specified figure we used is incorrect. This is a correction; see above.
  • The weighting is wrong — you think, say, that recharge speed should count for more than 20%. Tell us why; the weights are a judgement and we will defend or revise them in public.
  • The rubric is missing something — there is a criterion that matters and we do not score it. This is the most useful kind of criticism we get.

Manufacturers

If you are a manufacturer and we have got something wrong about your product, send the specific figure and the authoritative source and we will correct it — the same as for anyone else, and usually within a day or two.

Two things we will not do, so nobody wastes their time asking:

  • We do not accept review units, loans, samples, press pricing or hospitality. We have no bench to use them on, and accepting them would compromise the one thing this site has.
  • We do not accept payment for coverage, placement, ranking or scores, and we do not run advertising.

We are glad to receive spec sheets, test data and product manuals. We will cite them as manufacturer sources, clearly labelled as such.

Requesting a unit

Tell us which unit and, more usefully, what job you are trying to do with it. We prioritise units where independent measurements exist, because a unit nobody has measured is one we can only report specifications for — and specifications are exactly what this site exists to look past.

How to reach us

Email hello@solarpowerauditor.com.

We read everything. We reply to corrections and to manufacturer queries. We do not reply to link-building outreach, guest-post pitches, sponsored-content offers or requests to add affiliate links, and those are deleted unread.

Response times

This is a small operation. Corrections are usually actioned within a couple of days. Everything else may take longer or, in the case of the categories above, not at all.
