Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 vs EcoFlow Delta 3 — I Tested Both. Which 1 kWh Unit Should You Buy?

I drained both from full to shutdown on the same constant 300 W load, with a meter at the AC outlet.

Forty-three watt-hours is just under an hour of camp fridge. Real, but not decisive. In my outage drills both ran a fridge and router for 21 hours.

The percentages are close — 84.6% for the Jackery, 84.2% for the EcoFlow. The Jackery gives you more energy mainly because its pack is rated larger to begin with, at 1,070 Wh against 1,024 Wh.

Cycle ratings, expansion and prices are the manufacturers'.[1][2] Everything else is my own measurement.

3.8 lb separates them on my scale. That sounds trivial written down and isn't trivial carried — and the gap in how they carry is bigger than the number. The Jackery's fold-flat handle is the best I used on any unit; I rated its handling 5 out of 5. The Delta 3 is heavier than it looks, with one handle on each side, and I gave it 3.

Because the Jackery also holds more, the compound advantage is larger still:

If the unit moves — tailgate to pitch, garage to garden, car to trailhead — this decides it. I rated the Jackery 5 out of 5 for car camping and the EcoFlow 4.

Once it's set down, the Delta 3 is the better power station in almost every way.

Outlets. Six AC against three. On the Jackery I ran out of sockets; on the EcoFlow I never did.

App and build. The EcoFlow app is the best I used across eleven units — stable, clear, with useful schedules. Its fit and finish is the best in the 1 kWh class. The Jackery's app works, but its fast-charge toggle is hidden; its screen is small and hides input watts until you press a button.

Recharge. 58 minutes against 64 — closer than it used to be, and the Jackery needs fast mode switched on in the app to get there.

Output and switchover. 1,800 W against 1,500 W, and 10 ms against 20 ms. I gave the Delta 3 full marks for home blackout and the Jackery 3.

Both advertise 4,000 cycles. EcoFlow rates its 4,000 to 80% of original capacity; Jackery rates its to 70%.[2][1]

The Jackery's larger pack ends up holding less than the EcoFlow's smaller one. Its starting advantage reverses over the life of the battery.

The Delta 3 accepts expansion batteries — I tied it to one for about 2 kWh, and it goes to 5 kWh.[2] The Explorer 1000 v2 doesn't expand at all.[1] The EcoFlow's extra $140 buys an option the Jackery can't sell you at any price.

Both advertise five years, and both have a condition. EcoFlow's is three years as standard plus two more for registering the product in its app.[2] Jackery's is three years plus two more only if you buy direct from jackery.com.[1]

Carry it, and the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is the right unit: 22% more usable energy per pound, 43 watt-hours more in total, the best handle I used, and $140 cheaper.

Leave it in one place, and the EcoFlow Delta 3 is clearly better: twice the outlets, the best app on the site, more output, a faster switchover, a stronger cycle promise and the only expansion path of the two. It's also my overall pick across every unit I tested.

The tiebreaker, if you need one: four thousand cycles to 80% is a materially better battery than four thousand cycles to 70%, and neither box tells you that.
