The most usable watt-hours per pound in the 1 kWh class. Also the lowest solar ceiling, the lowest output, and a cycle rating that promises less than it appears to.

What the measurement says

OutdoorGearLab measured 910 watt-hours delivered from a rated 1,070 Wh — 85%.[1]

That efficiency is the joint-lowest of the four measured 1 kWh units. But because Jackery rates this pack at 1,070 Wh rather than the class-standard 1,024 Wh, it still hands over more actual energy than anything else in the class — 910 Wh against 890 for the Anker and Bluetti, and 870 for the EcoFlow.[2][3][4]

This unit is a good illustration of why efficiency alone is a bad way to choose. The Jackery converts a smaller share of its rating, and still gives you twenty more watt-hours than the units that convert a larger share of a smaller one. What runs your fridge is watt-hours, not percentages.

Note what is missing from that list. At 1,500 W continuous this is the lowest-output unit in its class, and a 1,500 W kettle sits exactly on the ceiling.[5] The Anker's 2,000 W gives you headroom this does not.

Carry weight — the actual argument

24.4 lb measured, against a claimed 23.8.[1][5] That is the lightest of the four, and combined with the largest usable capacity it produces the best energy density in the class:

Four pounds separates the Jackery from the EcoFlow. Over a hundred yards from a car to a campsite, that is the whole review.

Recharge

Measured at 1 hour 35 minutes, against Jackery's own 1.58-hour specification — a claim that measurement essentially confirmed.[1][5] Jackery's separate marketing claim of a one-hour "Emergency Charge" is a different mode and not what was measured.

Solar is the weak point, and it is a real one. 400 W maximum input is the lowest ceiling in the class — against 500 W for the EcoFlow, 600 W for the Anker and 1,000 W for the Bluetti.[5]

On a starter pair of 100 W panels the difference is theoretical, because no unit here can use more than about 150 W of real input from them. But if you intend to build any kind of array, a 400 W ceiling caps you at roughly a third of what the Bluetti Elite 100 V2 will accept.[6]

The cycle rating deserves a closer look

Jackery advertises 4,000 cycles, the same headline as Anker and EcoFlow. The retention figure differs, and it is not prominent.

Jackery rates its 4,000 cycles to 70% of original capacity.[5] Anker and EcoFlow rate theirs to 80%.[7][8]

Those are the rated retention figures applied to each unit's rating. The same headline number is describing a materially weaker promise — and the gap grows over the life of the pack, exactly when you are least able to do anything about it.

The five-year warranty is also conditional: it is three years as standard, extended to five only if you buy direct from Jackery.[5]

  • 1,500 W output, also the lowest.[5]
  • Cycles rated to 70%, not 80%.[5]
  • Not expandable, unlike the EcoFlow Delta 3.[8]
  • Noise is a claim. Jackery's US site says 30 dB; a Jackery UK blog post claims under 22 dB. No independent laboratory has measured it. Two figures from the same manufacturer is a reason to trust neither without a third-party test.

How long does the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 run a fridge?

About 20 hours 13 minutes for a 12 V camp fridge averaging 45 W, or about 17 hours 20 minutes for a full-size household fridge at 150 W and a 35% duty cycle. Both calculated from the independently measured 910 Wh usable capacity.

Is the Explorer 1000 v2 better than the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2?

It carries better — more usable watt-hours in a lighter box. The Anker scores higher overall on more output, more solar input, a stronger cycle rating and a lower price per usable watt-hour.[2][7]

What does "4,000 cycles" actually mean here?

That after 4,000 full charge-discharge cycles the pack should still hold 70% of its original capacity. Note the 70%: most competitors rate the same headline cycle count to 80%, which is a stronger promise.[5]

Can it run a 1,500 W kettle?

It is rated for exactly 1,500 W continuous with a 3,000 W surge, so a 1,500 W kettle sits on the limit.[5] It would also empty the unit in about 35 minutes. If you want margin, the Anker's 2,000 W is the better choice.

Do I get the five-year warranty on Amazon?

No. Jackery's five-year cover is three years as standard plus two more only when buying direct from jackery.com.[5]

The one to carry, if you recharge from a wall

The Explorer 1000 v2 wins the argument that matters if you actually move the thing: the most usable watt-hours in the class, in the lightest box, at 37 watt-hours per pound.

It loses on everything that matters if you do not. The lowest solar ceiling here, the lowest output, a cycle rating to 70% rather than 80%, and no expansion path.

So: buy it for car camping, hiking a short distance from a trailhead, or anywhere the carry is the constraint and a wall socket does the refilling. Buy the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 if it mostly sits still, and the Bluetti Elite 100 V2 if the sun is your grid.
